The plants you provided us in February are looking fantastic now – we are really happy with the condition they came in. Now we would like some plants for replacing the degraded plants in all our pots.

Congratulations on establishing ‘Instant Green Nursery’. You know from first experience what landscape architects require and their client’s expect of the plant material in a finished landscape.
The excellence of the nursery stock is obviously also due in no small measure to your Nursery Operations Manager Jim Muldoon, who I know is a master in producing quality plant material ideally suited to the specific needs of amenity horticulture. Jim’s knowledge of species suitability for local and regional areas is invaluable. He knows from personal experience that many of the widely available cultivars do not tolerate the SEQ climatic conditions; so, it was good to see that suitable local species, not just introduced cultivars, are being produced in the nursery instead. I know that Jim reviews plant lists submitted for purchase and production contracts and where scheduled plants are unlikely to succeed, recommends appropriate species to ensure quality landscape development long after the plants leave the nursery.
Obviously, plant health and vigour are basic considerations of the overall nursery management as I saw no evidence of any such negative impact to detract from the high physical quality of the plant specimens in production.
Perhaps the most evident impression is of the high quality of all of the stock throughout the nursery from seedlings to mature container plants. Not only are all plants vibrantly healthy but I was also particularly impressed by the uniformity and obvious aesthetic quality throughout the blocks of hundreds of specimens. In most other nurseries it is rare to see the attention to detail in formative pruning procedures followed at Instant Green, starting from the smallest plants and continuing throughout all stock sizes. These maintenance procedures result in specimens that have optimum and appropriate form from the outset; this is fundamentally important for all plant installation in landscape projects of whatever scale.
With all of these basic operational and management parameters in place, Instant Green is obviously well placed to influence and enhance landscape development projects generally though the production of the high-quality plant specimens produced and offered to the profession.
